Lean Concepts

Lean SystemA Lean Business System (LBS) is an in-depth approach to building a culture of continuous improvement, seeking to remove waste, or non-value-added activities, from every process, while creating a Learning environment.

Kaizen Systems - Kaizen is the Japanese term "Change for the good."  As a philosophy it promotes getting better every day.  As a methodology it facilitates employee collaboration and communication to break down a process and remove the waste before putting it back together in an efficient and sustainable manner.

Kaizen Administration - The planning & implementation documents and tools that help you organize and complete each stage of the Kaizen cycle (PDCA) Plan, Do, Check, Act.

Visual Workplace - Showing key information in a clear and simple way through visual devices, positioned at the point need, that can be understood by anyone at a glance.

Flow - The ability to produce continuous value. A flow-based process is a tight sequence in steps, delivering product or information on a regular cadence in small batches. Understanding takt time (cadence) will lead to balanced and synchronized operations.

Pull Systems - A system where work is pulled only when needed and at the required amounts.  This workflow allows for building products based on actual demand not forecasting.

Quick Changeover - An operating technique that systematically reduces the time and skill level required to set-up a process.  It provides a rapid and efficient way of converting a manufacturing process from running the current product to running the next product.

Mistake Proofing - Using Root Cause Analysis techniques to eliminate or reduce errors, improve safety and increase efficiency.  The purpose is to prevent and detect mistakes from impacting our customers.

Lean Leadership - Lean leadership is the ability to empower individuals by helping them achieve professional and personal progress and acknowledging their contributions to the workplace. The goal is to ensure long-term success for the company by engaging in the use of Lean tools and allowing people at all levels of the organization to be involved in solutions and successes. Lean leaders must put a heavy emphasis on culture that is built on trust & transparency and lead by example.
